Wife to talented Nigerian alternative singer, Bez Idakula, Bolatito Ladoja has taken to social media to tackle people who shame women for losing a pregnancy or a child.

This comes after a lady on Twitter identified as Sarafina Napoleon tweeted about Nollywood actress, Adesua who recently welcomed a baby boy but only just shared the maternity photo weeks after birth.

“Adesua gave birth and made it public a month later. Simi announced the arrival of her baby a month later, Wisdom is profitable to direct”

Reacting to the post, the daughter of former Oyo State Governor Rasheed Ladoja and mother of three in a long Twitter thread countered the post advising that people particularly fellow women desist from blaming other women for losing a child or pregnancy.

She wrote;

“This post pissed e off!! I had to bring this here to address something. This is putting blame on families who have experiences loses. Everyone has a choice, many people hid their pregnancies and still had painful loses. Many shared and have beautiful healthy babies. Simi even announced her pregnancy and inspired so many women to find joy during a sensitive season. That she chose not to announce the birth of her baby was her choice, same with Adesua.

Everything is a choice but messages like these are subtly placing blame on people who are already grieving and struggling with guilt in one way or the other. Please let us STOP IT! It is hardly a woman’s fault when she miscarriages or baby loss and that is something doctors always say. Please please please, if we can’t be supportive or encouraging, let us just keep these opinions that are with blame and shame to ourselves. Thank you”
